Who Am I?

Hi I’m Bri, Founder and Lead Psychologist at Core Wellness Cmnty.

I am here to help you make sense of what it is that you are going through. I utilise the bodies innate capacity to process and heal from the stressors, traumas, and past experiences that are keeping you stuck and repeating patterns that are no longer serving you. With this knowledge I will support you to develop the skills to understand and regulate your nervous system, build internal safety, reprocess the limiting beliefs holding you back, and connect with your core authentic self. Assisting you to navigate life's inevitable up and downs with ease and live the life you truly want.

I believe that developing an authentic connection, built upon deep listening, emotional attunement, compassion, and collaboration is foundational to the therapeutic process. Together, in a safe and supportive space, we will take the steps required for your inner growth and to improve your overall wellbeing. 

I am a trauma-informed, integrative therapist drawing from theoretical frameworks such as Polyvagal Theory, Attachment theory, and Somatic Psychology. I tailor psychological  intervention to your individual, unique needs and presentation, using evidence based modalities such as EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and Parts-Work.

I work with individuals experiencing a diverse range of challenges. These include:

Individual Sessions

We offer individual psychology sessions via video conferencing, allowing you to access the session from a comfortable space anywhere in Australia.

Group Sessions

Our group sessions offer a unique opportunity to connect with others who are also growth orientated. These sessions help you to understand your own nervous system responses and develop the tools and knowledge to regulate your nervous system.

Workshops

We develop interactive, creative, and informative workshops curated for  your event, organisation, or business. We can present in person or online.

Media Work

We are passionate about promoting mental health across a range of domains, including podcasts, consultation, article contribution, and webinars.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ease and accessibility to support are important to us. That is why at Core Wellness Cmnty we offer Telehealth sessions via video conferencing so that you can access therapeutic support from your own home. 

    Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email with the scheduled session time and Zoom link for your session. A reliable internet connection, a device with video capabilities (laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone), and a quiet space you feel comfortable in is all that is needed for your session. 

  • It is completely normal to feel a mix of emotions- nervousness, curiosity, awkwardness, or even excitement, about seeing a psychologist for the first time. At Core Wellness Cmnty, we get it. We approach each session with warmth, compassion, and without judgment. Our focus is to create a safe space where you feel heard, seen, and supported. 

    Your first session is all about getting to know you and what has led you here. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore any patterns or challenges you’re experiencing, and discuss what you hope to achieve. It’s a collaborative conversation, and you’re encouraged to share at your own pace.

    This initial meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a feel for whether this therapeutic approach is a good fit for you. 

  • Medicare rebates are available for certain psychological services with a referral from a GP. Your GP will conduct a mental health assessment to assess your emotional wellbeing and create a Mental Health Care Plan in collaboration with you. Your Mental Health Care Plan includes an initial referral for up to 6 sessions with a Psychologist of your choice. After completing these, your progress is reviewed, and additional sessions may be approved by your GP if ongoing sessions are required. Medicare currently offers up to 10 sessions per calendar year with a rebate of $98.95 per session for Core Wellness Community Psychologists. 

  • If you have private health insurance with extras cover, you might be eligible for a rebate on psychological services. It’s best to check directly with your insurer to confirm what’s included in your policy. Generally, you don’t need a GP referral to claim through your private health fund. However, please note that you can’t claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health rebate for the same session—you’ll need to choose one or the other.

  • We understand that things can pop up unexpectedly and at times you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. 

    If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment we kindly request that you please provide a minimum of 48 hours of notice. This allows us to offer the appointment slot to another client waiting. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment within 48 hours of the appointment time, you will be charged your full session fee. Please note that cancellation fees are not eligible for Medicare rebates (we will only charge you the out of pocket difference).
